The type, appearance and light quality of OSB-HF buoy is as same as that used now in companies of the Ministry of Communications, but the steel thick of material is reduced, thus the buoy weight is greatly lightened and is suitable for using by non-professional units and departments.

If the designed life of buoys located along the coast or Inland River by the traffic department is 12 years, the designed life of OSB buoy is 6-8 years, but it is enough for non-professional units.

The waterway department has the professional engineering ship, which capability is certainly suitable for the placement and recovery of buoy, but with higher costs. Many non-professional units are not only require low construction costs of buoy for expenditure saving, but also hope to lower the cost of working ships.

The design of OSB buoy is completely in conformity with requirements of IALA and GB.
